Gorgeous color, no?
Looks like a round gown, though I can’t tell for sure. But I’d bet on it - you can’t see a line of separate skirts.

Gorgeous. The notes say that Janet Arnold (what are you doing, not owning her books?) said this shows no signs of later alteration - fascinating.

Well, not really. Pocket hoops show up pretty consistently in the 1780s, and eventually it transitions into a bumroll, but we’re by no means outside of the pannier-type silhouette quite yet. Just not as wide.
